In 2014-15, I did some compensated work for WizKids for their D&D Attack Wing title, which had launched that year. The game innovatively combined the “Flight Path” system familiar from games like X-Wing with the Dungeons & Dragons world, and we had high hopes for the product line.
Alas, for whatever reason condemns good games to purgatory, D&D Attack Wing failed to catch fire and was eventually put on an indefinite hiatus.
First Official Tournament at Moonlite Comics
At the time, I was also owner of a game and comic store, and backed the game to the hilt with our local community. Here’s a tournament report from our first event.
This is a metagame/structure piece, looking at the shift from 120-point armies that the organized play system skewed towards. If 120 LP died, it didn’t go out without a fight!
